Books are my life and it’s always been that way for as long as I can remember. Something about reading just calms me down and takes me to another place and I think it’s great that kids can get into reading and it makes them smarter, too. That’s why when I got demoted at work a few years back I saw it as an opportunity to do something new – open a bookstore! As with other new things, some forms of instructions are required in order to operate at its full capacity. This is why employees from our company are slowly being sent to trainings of choice whether it be computer based training or Classroom based instructions for Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. This is happening in batches of 12 until everyone is educated and well versed. The training department hired a locally based company to do the instructions and an online based training with a different vendor. My training is not until a January, so I started poking around.
I bumped into a site called CBT planet that offers Computer Based Training for Microsoft desktop applications including MS Office 2010. They have training videos that are easy to learn, concise, and not overly technical that the video will look like it’s talking about rocket science. The company also offers comprehensive training for other platforms and programs such as Cysco training, Comp TIA amongst others.

About a decade ago you have never heard of printer ink that is not original. Genuine toner cartridges are known to be expensive and people still used dot matrix to its limit. Quality. If you compare both printouts of the same image, the original still looks better with more vivid colors.
The replacement is just slightly less vivid so if you are making presentations for reporting, replacements will do but if you wanted them to last longer like photographs, always go for original ink cartridges.

iOS 4.1 Bug – DST Alarm Problems

Leave a Comment Australia switched between Daylight Savings Time a few weeks ago and over the weekend, Europe followed suit and switched to their Winter Time. Twitter is getting got a slew of complaints related to iphone alarms going off an hour later than usual. Apple had acknowledged this bug and promised to resolve it, according to ZDNet Australia. So far the problem is yet to be fixed. I hope they get a fix before North America switches time on Sunday November 7.

There’s been a series of articles all over the web testing the proposed fix that all alarms should be deleted and reset. While this initially looked like a fix, it isn’t.
The problem appears when using a repeating alarm for anything other than “every day.” So for example, your alarm will go off an hour late if it’s set for “weekdays,” or “weekends,” or every “Monday.” The following alarms are not affected by the bug:
* An alarm that doesn’t repeat (repeat set to “never”)
* An alarm set to repeat “every day”
You can test yourself by creating a repeating alarm (but not every day) to go off one minute in the future and 59 minutes in the past.
iOS 4.1 Critical Bug – Placing Calls While on Locked Mode

Leave a Comment I recently discovered a bug with the new iphone operating system (iOS) 4.1 version. This bug enables users to make phone calls while on locked mode. While on the “Enter Passcode” screen users can select “Emergency Call” on the lower left hand side, dial in some random number, hit send, and press the hardware lock button on top. This will gain you access your phone contacts and calling features. You can place a call, check your voicemail, etc. But it doesn’t take you anywhere else.
To get out of this mode, you will need to place at least one valid call end that and you will be taken to the original screen where you started and you can enter your pin and fully unlock the iphone.

Iphone users probably have the same complaint across the board, short battery life. With 4G technology, music playing, gaming and now Face Time, iPhone users are yet again runs across the stumbling block of power usage. Last night I saw a new device that acts not only as a battery pack but also a cute case for your iPhone 4 finally no more phone dying in the middle of conversation or amidst playing Angry Birds. Mophie’s new Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 4 provides extra battery life while simultaneously keeping the phone small and stylish.
I wonder if people are going to be okay with spending $80 for this piece of gadget. What do you think?
