I Record and Channel Surf at the Same Time
Guest post from: Natalie Walter
I really enjoy two television shows that are on at the same time on different channels. If I’m home, I’ll watch one and record the other. If I’m out, I’ll record both of them. The great thing about DVR service is the capability to record two different things on two different channels. Sometimes I’ll be watching something I’ve already recorded on the DVR while two other shows, on two separate channels, are recording.
I really need my DVR from www.tvbydirect.com/directv-deal/NORTH-CAROLINA-NC-direct-tv.html in order to get the most for my money. There are a lot of channels to choose from with so much programming that it is easy to get lost in so many choices. With my DVR, I can record one show while channel surfing. If I find something interesting, I’ll watch it. If not, I can start watching what I was recording from the beginning even before the show is over. I tell you what, DVR service is a remote control commander’s dream come true.
I also like it that DVR is intuitive. No longer is it necessary to have a degree in rocket science just to operate the TV set. If I see something I like in the guide, I just press the record button. The DVR system will even prompt me if there are any conflicts with other stuff that I have set to record and give me options that are just a click of the remote away.

iPhone 4 and iphone 3gs Side by Side Review
Thanks to PhoneArena who did a very comprehesive side by side review of the latest two iphone versions, the apple iphone 4 and apple iphone 3gs. The iphone is a phone created and issued by Apple Computers, pre-empted by a commercial called “Hello” in 2007. It changed the way mobile consumers used their cell phones.

On Online Faxing
When the internet was discovered, everyone (and I mean every business, individual, government agency and more) immediately tapped the internet and harnessed the power of being connected to multitudes of computer even at the far end of the globe. The accessibility and connectivity that the internet provides was seen as a powerful tool that can significantly improve communications, increase productivity and attract or reach more audience/clients.
With more and more businesses, agencies and firms that are joining the internet, it is no wonder that most companies are compelled to join the internet revolution and invest on recent technological innovations. The introduction of the internet also made possible mobile workplaces as it allowed employees to go mobile yet connected.
One of the biggest innovations introduced with the dawn of the internet technology is online faxing services. This particular technology uses the internet to send and receive fax messages. This actually way cheaper than its traditional counterpart and is also faster, more reliable and more efficient. It does not matter if your recipient doesn’t have an internet connection because as long as they have a fax machine (the big old bulky one), then you can be assured that your fax message will come through.
Obviously, if you are on a business trip and your destination is on the deepest point of Eastern Siberia, and from where you are there is no internet connection, and then you will not be able to enjoy the full convenience of online fax. However, if you are in the mountains of the Himalayas and from there you can access the internet using your smart phone, then you will still have the capability to send and receive your fax messages.
One setback of online faxing is hacking. Since your data will be sent over the internet, there is always the possibility that your data will be intercepted by a third party and this can be pretty dangerous especially if you are sending very important data. To counter this flaw, most online fax facilities uses encryption technologies that scramble your data before it is sent over the internet. This way, even if your data is intercepted, it will not be read by hackers because the data is scrambled. At this point, however, some argue that traditional faxing is way better than online fax.
However, if we will try to look at online fax using the “benefit lens”, then we can really say that online fax is way better than conventional faxing. For one reason, online fax would allow you to send one fax message to hundreds of recipients (called fax broadcasting) without necessarily dialling and redialling each number one by one. You will never be online with online fax because the internet is never busy. Your customers or clients will never complain that they can’t reach you via fax because fax tone is a never heard concept in the field of online faxing. You can send and receive fax messages simultaneously just as you would send and receive email messages. What more can you ask?

Introducing the New 2010 MacBook Air
The next generation of MacBook Air is out, Apple released the new baby at noon time today, October 21, 2010. This could be the thinnest and most light weight laptop for it’s size – measuring at 0.68 in thickness and weighing 2.3 to 2.9 pounds. The price tags for the new MacBook Air are $999 for the 11-inch netbook-sized model, and $1299 for the 13-inch model. Previous model was priced at $1499 to $1799 and only comes as 13-inch model but varies in power. People may think that MacBook is underpowered and overpriced as a laptop when you can buy a dell laptop for half the price. But it is a Mac, and they are known for having much sturdier platform and system that is unsusceptible and unpersuadable by computer viruses.

Those who were able to get their hands into it already have reported that unlike it’s other competition, this laptop features a a kick ass screen resolution at 16:9 aspect ratio version of a 1024-by-768 pixel display, and full size keyboard, making life much crispier, brighter and easier all around.
I am close to being sold now, but I was told there are no optical drives on these babies. What?!?! no optical drive? No DVD player, No CD player, No BluRay, NADA! It only comes with a thumb drive that has the Operating System’s back up. How am I going to watch my soap opera DVDs and Glee Episodes without a DVD player?
I was close to giving up and not even looking at this and shared my dilema to my Mac Junkie husband who told me that with a good Video Converter, I can convert wmv and rm files to into mpeg and mpeg4 and play the movies in MacBook Air. So really all I needed is a Video Converter for Mac? I’m sure the iPad Video Converter he found last week for new toy will work. He’s been able to download his favorite movies and watch them on his iPad. The name of the product was imToo and it works great. Not only it converts files, imToo also has a software that allows you to transfer files from iphone or ipad to itunes and your mac or pc.
The Hunt for Perfect Car Audio Receiver
We recently purchased a car audio receiver to install in our car. I wanted a car stereo that will play AM/FM radio, a compact disk or CD and is able to play iTunes from my iPhone. I also want something that is prized for under $100 since our car is not new, and we may only need it for the next year or so. After researching and reading reviews on a few car audio receivers we nailed on a selecting Sony CDX-GT130.

Priced at $89 and meeting all my criteria I felt that this product is perfect for my car. I love how the volume control has a rubber covering making the adjustments easy. It also tunes to radio stations quickly and with clear and crisp quality. The auxiliary access in front makes listening to the songs on my iPhone a breeze – that is with the help of a mini jack.
It’s also good to note that we looked at Electronics.Become.com, they feature price comparison and some product reviews on consumer electronics including voice recorders, high definition televisions, car audio, personal audio players such as iPods, iTouch and more.
Lemon Batteries: How Does Electrochemical Reaction Works
This post features a very common project/experiment in science textbooks around the world – demonstrating how electrochemical reaction works.

What do you need:
1 piece of lemon
2 pieces of penny
2 galvanized nails or screws
copper wires
something that needs low voltage energy such as an LED bulb or calculator
See the video below for a video I found on youtube on how to execute this project.
This experiment aims to show how batteries work.
This project is done by slicing a piece of lemon and inserting a copper coin to serve as a positive electrode or cathode and the nail or screw as the electron-producing negative electrode or anode. The lemon creates an environment where zinc is oxidized inside the lemon, creating an exchange of electrons.
